hSoon the new look Severed site will be online
and fully accessable. It will probably be up and running in the next month or so.
If you have any suggestions about the new site please put them on
the guestbook, or send them to severed7@hotmail.com to have your say in the nu site.
Toni's Party went off without too much of a hitch
and was a good introduction to what is to come from Severed. Look out for more gigs in 2003 and developments around the site.
See You In 2003
COVERS
OF SYSTEM AND KORN ON MUSIC PAGE
Check the music page after the 15th of October
to hear the band's first recordings for the site. These were just recorded at a practice with a very crap minidisc recorder
and does not reflect the actual talent of the band. lol
TOM GETS A FIVE STRING BASS
The legend bass guitarist of Severed, Tom Mee, has
invested into buying a 5-string peavey bass. Oh the legend. Now when we play it will sound pretty sexual. The 5-string
wonder that is TOMMEE ladies and gentlemen!
SEVERED'S NIGHT OUT
On Friday 29th august 2002, the whole of Severed
were casually walking down London road Beccles, and as they approached the butchers arms at the top of London road a
car came skidding round the corner, looking as if it was going to flip straight into the band, but stayed upright, skidded
up onto the path on the opposite side of the road to the band and then flew backwards into a wall, just inches away
from where the band stood. Police were informed and reached the scene at approx 8.30, nearly a full hour after the accident
occurred. Thankfully the band are fine, and were laughing at the scene of the accident.
Since the accident, on the 13th of september, the
police have been in touch with the band and have taken steve and tim's statements, of which are probably exactly the same.
They may have to take more statements from the remaining three members of severed although they will not need to unless the
case goes to court. Although the police seem not to believe that it is going to make it that far. Thank god!
"GIGS IN THE HALL" BECOMES SUCCESS
On Thursday 18th July 2002 Severed stunned
audiences at their school with a set of all KoRn. We played "Blind" and "Somebody Someone" in the first half, and "Got the
Life" in the second. The whole performance went off without a hitch. The rather bland, run-of-the-mill set of ballad upon
ballad was broken up by two performances from the Beccles quintet.
The Day scheduled two full concerts:- one
to a gaggle of primary school children and the other to parents, friends, and family. The boys stole the afternoon show with
almost every one of the 8 year olds jumping up and down to Got the Life and Somebody Someone. This, the first performance
for the band with Tim Murray drumming, went ten times better than planned. The equipment was set to perfection and they sounded
great. Then came the evening show. The bands hopes were not too high before walking on as they expected a luke-warm response.
But the crowd were surprisingly enthusiastic, the band came off on a high after the first half, still having Got the Life
to play in the second. Once they were on for their second performance of the evening, the crowd were ready. But Tim wasnt.
Half way through the intro to the song a drumstick went flying across the stage. Luckily, the rest of the band kept playing
while Tom, still playing, picked up Tims stick remarkably without faltering a single note. By the end of the intro a huge
roar erupted from the crowd as Tim got his stick back and carried on into the verse. This, adding some comedy to the set,
was surprisingly successful as Tim carried it off so well. The end of their set came and another roar came from the audience,
sounding the end of Severeds performances for this school year.
